Great Pictures from Lindmark Photograpy from yesterdays call.At around 0600 Tuesday morning, Selkirk and Elsmere Fires Ladders were requested to 1 Noryl Ave, SABIC, for a train car releasing a chemical into the air. Later identified as Styrene Monomer. The smell of the chemical compound could be picked up in Voorehsville, and later a Stage 1 Evacuation was issued. Roads were also shut down at Crebel and Elm Ave, 32 and Feura Bush Rd, and Old Quarry and So. Albany. Multiple fire and Law Enforcement agencies were also called to stage at the Elm Ave park. At this time, the situation is not a harm for the community and there were no injuries reported.

Officials issue evacuation notice for non-essential businesses near SABIC Innovative Plastics

Non-essential business within half a mile of SABIC must evacuate. Officials are also telling residents who live within one mile of the company to shelter in place.
