- To Support the Fire Department during times of emergency by providing supplies at the scene of fire scenes or other types of emergency calls, as well as helping the Fire Department personnel and their families during times of loss or need.
- Honor the service and sacrifice of Firefighters and their families.
- Encourage community support of the Selkirk Fire Department and its members.
The Selkirk Fire Department Auxiliary was created on July 9th, 1929. In the late 1950′s, with the additions of Selkirk Fire Co. 2, and Selkirk Fire Co. 3, The Selkirk Fire Department Auxiliary was divided into three separate company Auxiliaries. Despite being separate groups, the Auxiliary groups always come together when the members of the Selkirk Fire Department need them. Whether the Auxiliary is called to the scene of a working structure fire call, bringing hot soup and coffee on cold nights, or cold beverages and sandwiches on a hot day, the Auxiliary always answers the call when needed. The Auxiliary also supports the Selkirk Fire Department by assisting at fund raising events, recruitment events, fire prevention event, etc..
