At around 1pm today Selkirk FD was dispatched to River Rd. near Glenmont Rd. for various areas where trees had come down blocking the road. Selkirk FD cleared out four different spots and provided lane closure assistance for a tree crew near PSEG.

We hope everyone made it through this tremendous storm safe.Glenmont, NY (Albany County) - 8/3/2018: I was along River Road in Glenmont, NY during today's severe thunderstorms and a downburst occurred with 60 MPH winds, 1.00" diameter hail, crazy lightning and flash flooding. I employed some important safety tips to make sure I stayed safe, such as: 1) Pull off the road into a parking area that is NOT under any trees, 2) If possible, park under an overhang to prevent hail damage, and 3) Stay in your car when lightning is in the area since it can strike far from the parent storm.
