Selkirk FD Fire Prevention Week In Review

October 9th thru October 15th is Fire Prevention Week.  To help celebrate Fire Prevention Week the Selkirk Fire Department visited numerous local schools, and also the Van Allen’s Senior Apartment complex.  Over three days SFD brought Fire Safety lessons to over 800 students at the A.W. Becker School, Glenmont Elementary School, and Kim’s DayCare Center.

Selkirk FD Responds To CSX Railyard – Suspicious Device On Railcar

On Sunday August 7th, at 2:33PM, Selkirk FD was dispatched to the CSX Selkirk Rail Yard, to assist the police department with what was reported initially as a suspicious pipe attached/wired, to a tank car in the yard.  Selkirk units were staged on the outer perimeter of the yard while the police investigated the situation.
