Selkirk FD Deployed To Western NYS

Selkirk FD Congratulates Newest Firefighter I Graduates

FF Sara Hospodor, FF Jordan Betor, Chief Bill Asprion, and FF Ryan Lundgren.
On Saturday Evening, November 14th, at the Elsmere Fire Department, the graduates of the latest Albany County Firefighter I course received their certificates of completion.  Selkirk FD had three new firefighters graduate from this class.  Congratulations to Firefighters Jordan Betor, Sarah Hospodar, and Ryan Lundgren.

Selkirk FD Visits Glenmont School For Fire Prevention Week

On Thursday October 9th, the Selkirk Fire Department visited the Glenmont Elementary School, for Fire Prevention Week, for its 15th straight year.  Selkirk FD taught the entire school lessons on fire safety, home escape plans, smoke alarms, and how to get out safely.

Selkirk FD Members Take Part In 2014 Tunnel To Towers 5K Run/Walk

Selkirk FD Members Participate In MacBoston 18 Truck FDNY Training

Entire class of the 2014 MacBoston 18 Truck FDNY Training Seminar.
On Saturday September 20th, members of the Selkirk Fire Department attended the annual MacBoston 18 Truck “Training With The FDNY” training seminar.  Members of the FDNY volunteered their time to train local firefighters on various techniques including, Forcible Entry, Stand-Pipes, Hose-Line Advancement, Search & Rescue, Ventilation, and Truck Co. Selkirk FD Responds To Structure Fire Call At Glenmont Price Chopper

In the early hours of September 17th, Selkirk FD responded to a reported structure fire at the Glenmont Price Chopper.  The store was evacuated.  The source of the fire was a malfunctioning Bagel machine.  Fire was seen inside the machine.  The fire was extinguished, and the store was ventilated of smoke.

Selkirk FD Members Complete Water Rescue Training

On September 14th, members of the Selkirk Fire Department, completed a two-day Water Rescue Training Course, taught by the Long Island Rescue Services organization. All members of the department are required to complete this training to be a member of the Rescue 4 Boat Crew. Congrats to those that completed the course and Thank You.
